TRAIL KNIGGE
To ensure that everything runs smoothly and to avoid negative moods, we ask you to be considerate of your fellow athletes. Pay particular attention to the following points
GENERALLY
The Donautal Trail Wachau is all about togetherness, adventure and collecting special moments. Since neither time nor podium places are the main focus, you can approach your trail in a relaxed manner. Don't let it upset you if you have to wait at a refreshment station, briefly stray from the path, the pace isn't perfect or the weather isn't ideal. On the contrary: enjoy the moment and be proud that you are part of this experience!
Overtake or let others overtake you - and look out for each other!
The Donautal Trail Wachau is an outdoor experience for runners
and hikers. On narrow passages and single trails, different speeds can cause tension.
We therefore ask you to show mutual consideration and to let faster participants pass. Consideration and mutual appreciation ensure a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.
This way, everyone can enjoy the trail according to their own ideas and goals.
At the refreshment station - place backpacks and sticks in front of the refreshment station!
If several people are standing or arriving at a refreshment station at the same time, take off your backpack in front of the refreshment station and put it to one side. The backpacks also take up a lot of space on your back and block access to the refreshment station - especially for those people standing behind you, the backpacks and movements are therefore unpredictable and unpleasant - for example, drinks or food are accidentally knocked out of your hand.
Please always leave your walking sticks or poles IN FRONT of or NEXT to the refreshment station. Poles are a real tripping hazard.
Help yourself to something from the lab station - those who come after you are hungry and thirsty too!
Planning quantities for the rations is a complex matter. In principle, we plan sufficiently - but we cannot cover 'cravings' with our rations.
Therefore, when you grab something, please be considerate of the participants who come after you and do not be annoyed if our helpers at the lab stations point this out to you when you repeatedly follow up.
If you get a craving, we recommend that you pack enough cereal bars, gels and other energy boosters in your backpack - that way you'll be well prepared for any eventuality.
Rest at the lab station - keep the access clear!
Please do not rest or sit down directly at the point of issue. If the entrance is blocked, there will be waiting times and frustration. Space is very limited, especially at Pöstlingberg and GIS. Please look for a place to rest in the surrounding area.
Toilets - leave them as you would like to find them!
Actually, it goes without saying. If something goes wrong, be sure to inform the restaurant owner or the helpers at the refreshment station and don't just rush off without saying a word. Your fellow athletes will thank you - and of course we will too!
Be kind to yourself - if it's enough, then it's enough!
Not every day is the same, you don't always train enough, sometimes the weather isn't ideal, etc.
If you can't do it anymore, please be kind to yourself and stop. The Danube Trail will be back next year. There's absolutely no point in completely overexerting yourself and not listening to your body. We want to be able to welcome you back next year, motivated, fit and cheerful.
